As you can see, video has progressed a long way in the past 20 years.

Here is a comparison:

Video CD (1993) had 84K pixels on the screen.

DVD (2000) had 345K pixels.

720p (2003) 921K pixels.

1080i (2008) 2073K pixels

2160i (2016) has 8294K pixels.

 

You can see that the amount of info that has to be redrawn 30 times every second is huge, 8 million plus pixels.

There are few companies that can handle this demanding video standard.  We are one of them.
